On Tuesday night, the city of Florence held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The Florence Government Center on Ewing Blvd. was alive with bright lights and the smiles of local children participating in all sorts of Christmas themed events.
The Christmas Tree Lighting event featured many great Christmas activities for families to participate in. The event featured Christmas music
performed by the Florence Community Band and the Florence Community
Chorus. Families could take a sleigh ride around the campus of the Government Center to see all of the spectacular lights. The jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus, was on hand to see what the children of Florence want for Christmas. The crowd joined in the singing of Jingle bells to welcome Santa to Florence. Florence Mayor Diane Whalen was on hand at the event and the Florence Christmas tree was officially lit for the season.
It was a great evening for the children of Florence and their families.
